In 2006, platinum-selling hard rock band Tantric split from
their record company, Maverick Records, after agonizing complications in the
record-making process. By 2007, all but one member had left the group.
In many cases, the lone member of a band will officially
quit and disband the group, but Hugo Ferreira had a different idea. Instead of
looking for new projects all together, he gathered Kevin Miller, Joe Pessia,
Eric Leonhardt, and Marcus Ratzenboeck to create Tantric’s third album, The End
Begins.

It is time for Low vs. Diamond! And no, this is not a fight or boxing match you can order via your television. Low vs. Diamond is a rock band based in Los Angeles, but they are, by no means, an "LA band."
"I think it's just natural for people to assume certain things about where you come from and try to group you in with other bands," said lead singer Lucas Field. "Since we are all from all over the U.S. originally, I think we just see ourselves as an American band, as weird as that is."

If Plain White T’s asked fans to meet them in California, chances are the fans would flock to the state in such a crazed frenzy that it would require some major security detail. In order to avoid utter chaos, the dreamy band behind hits like "Hey There Delilah" is asking fans to meet them through a different medium: the internet.
Plain White T’s let the camera in as they wrote, recorded, and begin to promote their new album, Big Bad World. In a much more timely effort than ever seen in film or television, the footage was molded into a series of “webisodes” featured on the ABC Family website entitled "Meet Me in California".
“This is a huge deal for us and it’s perfect timing,” said Tom Higgenson, the band’s lead vocalist. “We’re recording a new record, we’re about to go on tour and support it, and just to have that documented alone is amazing, let alone putting it online for this Web series.”

One look at the album cover for Suburban Legend's fifth release Lets Be Friends, And Slay the Dragon Together! gives you a pretty good idea of just what this band is like. It features all six members of the band in cheeky poses, wearing the snarkiest costumes a group of grown men could possibly find.
The cover certainly matches the "raw, untamed, seductive energy" that the band strives toward with each album and show.
"If you took High School Musical and added Nicole Richie with a kilo of cocaine, that's what it's like to come across us. We are definitely not afraid of pop music and a good hook," said vocalist Vince Walker. Of course, he's also quick to add that he doesn't condone the use of cocaine or Nicole Richie.

Although you might not have heard of LA's singer-songwriter Ferras, chances are you had heard his catchy debut single at least once a week for a couple of months.
For the seventh season of American Idol, the song played after each idol was voted off was Ferras' "Hollywood's Not America" from his debut album, Aliens and Rainbows. Ever since the show began, the song has been steadily working its way up the charts and earning Ferras a fan following.
Unlike many artists who struggle their way through creating a debut album, Ferras (last name: Alquasi) found the recording process to be "passionate, introspective, and a good time." This is because Ferras sees a deeper purpose behind his music than just singing about his life.
