Tide Offers Loads of Hope via New Campaign Print E-mail

“In the wake of disasters, small comforts can make a big difference.”

That’s the new slogan for Tide’s Loads of Hope campaign, which has been bringing it’s CleanStart Truck equipped with 32 washers and dryers to victims of natural disasters over the past three years.

Having done over 35,000 loads of laundry for those in need, Loads of Hope started a new fundraising campaign for families that have been affected by natural disasters: vintage Tide t-shirts. The t-shirts are available in multiple sizes and colors, all featuring the Tide logo.

Role Model Launches Mentoring PSA Print E-mail

Even though his newest movie Role Models depicts the hellish experiences of two men taking part in a mentoring program, actor Paul Rudd has recorded a new public service announcement (PSA) in support of mentoring organizations Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“I play a misguided mentor. It's R-rated comedy. And the truth is -- We're making light of a very serious subject,” Rudd said in the PSA. “I love the concept of these one-to-one relationships -- what it does for the kids and the adults. That's why I'm a big fan of Big Brothers Big Sisters. They change how kids grow up -- helping them beat the odds in school and life.”

College Costs Determine Voting Choices Print E-mail

The Futuretrust® Hopes and Dreams Survey conducted by Harris Interactive asked over 2,000 participants to name what fiscal issues top their list of concerns with the government. According to the survey, parents will vote for the future politicians that are most likely to lower the cost of a college education. 

Even though universal health care seems to be the main focus of the current elections, 66 percent of parents with children between the ages of 13 and 17 said they would choose free higher education over universal health care.

Dunkin' Donuts Wins Battle of the Brews Print E-mail

What type of brew do Americans prefer? According to an independent study, regular coffee drinkers in the United States prefer the taste of Dunkin' Donuts coffee to Starbucks.

Researchers in the double blind study brewed up Dunkin' Donuts' Original Blend and Starbucks' House Blend, and then asked 476 adults in 10 cities who drink coffee habitually to name their preference. In total, 58% of those tested chose Dunkin’ Donuts coffee over the Starbucks brand. This percentage includes adults who claimed to prefer buying Starbucks coffee.
