Stop-Loss is the latest release in the genre of war films, but unlike your typical historical war film, this one holds a remarkable difference--its story is not yet history.
The film takes place in the year 2007 in the middle of the Iraq War which, in case you were unaware, is still going on. Staff Sergeant Brandon King (Ryan Phillippe) leads his squadron of about a dozen men into the bloody streets of Baghdad at the beginning of the film. After about fifteen minutes of bullets and bloodshed, the soldiers are on a bus returning to their home state of Texas where wives, girlfriends, parents and siblings wait eagerly.

Stephenie Meyer's The Host |

Stephenie Meyer, author of the bestselling Twilight series, is nearly a household name now. TIME Magazine even compares her to J.K. Rowling, acknowledging their differences, but also their similar affects on the audience - the way the books cause readers to "want to climb inside them and live there."
Meyer's latest, The Host, is marketed more to young adult readers, and while her style is still consistent to Twilight, the older ages of the characters and the lack of a school setting do make it a bit more mature. In both, though, the stories are relevant for a wide range of ages, much like J.K. Rowling's books. For teen readers (and probably adults, too!), content is much more substantial than many mainstream books.
The plot of The Host follows Wanderer (also called Wanda later on), a soul that has been placed in the body of Melanie Stryder. This race of souls has taken over planets, using the bodies of the planets' inhabitants to live. For this, the humans often call them parasites, while the bodies they live in are known as hosts.

So maybe they aren't really sick of Sarah. The lead singer Abisha Uhl got the band's name (previously Sparkle Motion) when talking to her roommate Sarah, who was complaining about her name, and the phrase stuck.
They released their single "Bittersweet" through Adament Records after winning the MTV virtual Kaya's Battle of the Bands - this song grabbed Spin Magazine's attention, which compared the band to the Breeders and Sleater-Kinney.
