![]() Rated: R Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), successful author and everyone’s favorite fashion icon-next-door, is back, her famously sardonic wit intact and sharper than ever, as she continues to narrate her own story about sex, love and the fashion-obsessed single woman in New York City. Sex and the City finds Carrie, Samantha (Cattrall), Charlotte (Davis) and Miranda (Nixon) four years after the hit HBO series ended, as our favorite femme fashionables continue to juggle jobs, friendships and relationships while they start to navigate motherhood, marriage and Manhattan real estate...some of them may even - brace yourself - brave other boroughs outside Manhattan. - New Line Cinema. This episode centers on Carrie's romance with Mr. Big and their impending marriage. Carrie gets deeply involved with all the things that women do to prepare them for the wedding, while Samantha cavorts with her actor boyfriend in LA, Miranda has to face up to her husband's indiscretion, and Charlotte finds herself with a bun in the oven. But, the story gets really testy when Miranda lets her complicated life alter Carrie's Cinderella dreams. There's not much you can say about the acting and the wonderful characters from Candace Bushnell's book, as here is where the movie excels. With the help of pinpoint direction by King, the 40-something's blossom all over the screen. Most every woman going to see the film will be in la la land just trying to wonder what it would be like to be any one of the flamboyant characters. But, there is a downside, and I'm afraid it's directed at the men. Get ready for the invasion of foreigners in your woman's closet; Versace, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik, Salvatore Ferragamo, and any other brands featured on Park Avenue. Trust me, no matter what the cost, your lady will be totally in the mode, even without your consent. No, especially without your consent. The hit of the film comes from an excellent and delightful performance by Jennifer Hudson as Louise, the social secretary hired by Carrie to help her get reorganized following an error in judgment. Jennifer does a superb job of balancing just enough wit with devotion to create a teary touch of heaven. Starring: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, Chris Noth, Candice Bergen and Jennifer Hudson FINAL ANALYSIS: Ladies grab your gal friends and head out to Sex and the City, it's your chance to pig out on all the heavenly things you dream about, but can't afford.
