Comedy Central is premiering its first ever unscripted, competition program called Reality Bites Back, which satirizes reality television. Reality Bites Back will be hosted by Michael Ian Black, of MTV's The State and the film Wet Hot American Summer, and will feature ten comedian contestants: Kyle Cease, Chris Fairbanks, Jeff Garcia, Red Grant, Tiffany Haddish, Bert Kreischer, Mo Mandel, Donnell Rawlings, Amy Schumer and Theo Von. After a series of bizarre competitions, one of the contestants will be kicked off of the show each week. The winner will receive $50,000 and the title "Lord of all Reality". Reality Bites Back will spoof popular reality shows such as American Idol, Survivor, and The Biggest Loser, among others. For the sake of the show, American Gladiators will become Almost-American Gladiators, where the contestants must pretend to be immigrants and escape Border Patrol. Reality Bites Back premieres on Comedy Central Thursday, July 17 at 10:30 p.m. ET.
