I must admit, the vocals are often a bit too whiny for my taste; and hit repetitive tones excessively. The lyrics vary in quality, but the melodies generally sound interesting enough. The low note on the album is "So Many Faces", the band's attempt at a slower, more sensitive tune; while the highlight would have to be the previous track, "Face the Music", a strong song instrumentally, lyrically, and vocally (relatively speaking). On the good side, A Coastline Ending proves emotionally provocative and thoroughly stimulating - powerful, honest, and just the right amount of angst.

Fairly new on the pop-rock scene, A Coastline Ending debuts their take on music with In the Name of Progression. These six guys have energy to be reckoned with and a sound that's not quite like any other -- whether they use those aspects wisely is yet to be determined.
