EA Games is proud to announce Operation Mania. The classic Hasbro board game Operation has been adapted into a game on EA Games' popular web site Pogo.com, and a video game version to be sold in stores, as well.
Operation Mania offers what the board game always did, patients with crazy illnesses, such as butterflies in their stomach. But now the game has been tweaked to fit its new medium. Players must hurry to operate on patients, through a series of games recollective to that of the classic board game, before time runs out and the patients red nose flashes.
Players of the game will now be Dr. Humerus, a surgeon who must diagnose and treat all of the patients he has admitted to one of five different hospitals in eccentric locations. Patients will include Operation icon Cavity Sam, as well as many other new characters.
Operation Mania will be available to play online at Pogo.com in August for residents of the U.S. and the U.K. The video game version will be in stores this September, in North America, for $19.95.
