System of a Down front man Serj Tankian has a new album called Elect the Dead, set to be released on October 23. The first song on the album, "Empty Walls”, is a powerful mix of Serj"s own unique vocal skills integrated with balls-to-the-wall (pardon the pun) rhythms that will have you screaming for more. There are a few other tracks that deserve attention as well, including “Saving Us”, “Lie Lie Lie”, and what may be the gem of the album, “Money”. In Elect the Dead, Serj noticeably uses the musical forum to promote his political ideology, but like many other great artists both past and present, what makes it work is the aesthetic is not ignored for the sake of shock value. If you’re a fan of both Serj Tankian and System of a Down, then Elect the Dead would be a great addition to your CD collection. Serj’s solo project shines with metal luminosity.
