Current TV - the world's peer-to-peer news and information network (co-founded by Al Gore) - and FADER - the film production arm of FADER magazine - are teaming up together!

They are putting on a convention entitled The Day of Dialogue: The Future of Non-Fiction Film. The symposium is for emerging filmmakers who have interests within the non-fiction stories genre.

Taking place on November 6 at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City, A Day of Dialogue will provide a forum for all who attend, to establish relationships with the film industry's finest, while gaining some insight from inspiring directors.

Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, who were Oscar nominees for Jesus Camp, along with Marc Levin, who won the Emmy for directing Mr. Untouchable, and Bingham Ray, the founder of October Films, are just a few noteworthy individuals attending. Al Gore will also be there giving the event's keynote speech.

Things will start out with "Inside the Director's Studio", an hour-long discussion about the process and challenges of documentary filmmaking. Afterwards, the attending filmmakers will gather in small groups to chat with film festival programmers, sales agents, and distribution executives. 

The event will be topped off with pitch sessions (where each filmmaker will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas to a creative executive from Current TV).

In addition, The Day of Dialogue will screen various shorts and excerpts from documentaries selected from Current TV's programming, as well as filmmakers attending the conference.
