The world's first environmentally-conscious superhero, Captain Planet's mission was to teach young folk about environmental conservation. The message will now be spread through an all-new line of t-shirts featuring this iconic character through Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) and Local Celebrity. The shirts are for men, women, kids - everyone. The line is available for purchase through high-end, specialty boutiques and department stores. Christina Miller, vice president of consumer products for CNE said, "Captain Planet was the original hero leading the charge for environmental protection and rocking a mullet long before they were cool things to do. He truly is an iconic hero for environmental awareness, and we're excited to offer fans a way to wear their support." Captain Planet and the Planeteers television series brought the hero to life when five ring-wielding Planeteers - teenagers who summoned a unique power including Earth, Wind, Fire, Water and Heart - came together in response to an environmental threat. The series can be seen weekdays on Boomerang, the 24-hour cable network that devotes itself to giving fans their class cartoons. Be ready for a 12-hour Captain Planet marathon in April, helping to celebrate Earth Day 2008.
