Critique:
This is an Adam Sandler movie. That is really all I need to say for this review. You either like and get the humor (which I do), or you don't. There are many laugh-out-loud moments drizzled throughout the film—as Sandler's films often have—but there are lessons to be learned, even in the silliest of moments.
The big message here centers around friendship and family. That is what this film is mostly about. But - it also addresses being gay in a society that sometimes isn't as tolerable - or liberal - as they say they are. Sandler does this very well through humor and situations Chuck and Larry have to deal with while they "pretend" to be partners.
Of course, whilst pretending, they actually start behaving like partners, which brings on another level of humor, as well as self discovery within the characters themselves.
Sandler brings along his crew of friends for this production, who make appearances in most of his films—seriously, how can you have an Adam Sandler movie without Rob Schneider at this point?
The DVD features have their funny moments just like the film, and turn out to be quite informative. If you are an Adam Sandler fan this is not one you want to miss. A great addition to any comedy/drama collection!
