Rated: R
Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., and Mark Ruffalo
Directed by: David Fincher
This film is based on the true story of the Zodiac killer. Zodiac delivers key points to the killings done by the Zodiac in a way that flows seamlessly and is effortlessly believable.
Robert Graysmith (Gyllenhaal), a cartoonist for a California-run newspaper, puts together the clues and evidence left from the Zodiac killer, long after the police believe the case can never be solved.
Robert gets help from a writer at the newspaper, Paul Avery (Downey Jr.), as well as information and leads from inspector David Toschi (Ruffalo).
Though police move on after the Zodiac seemingly disappears, inspector David Toschi never gives up hope that one day the killer will be found, arrested and tried for numerous murders.
With patience and skills one wouldn't normally associate with a newspaper cartoonist, Robert puts pieces of this confusing and long puzzle together.

His Name Was Arthur Leigh Allen: The truth about the prime suspect in the Zodiac case from people who knew him and the police who investigated him
I remember watching the film and hearing someone read a letter from the Zodiac. He wanted a film about him to be made, and wondered who would play him. Well, Zodiac was made, but no one knows for sure whether the killer was portrayed correctly since no one ever really figured out who he was...
This film is definitely worth watching, and multiple times at that. Jake Gyllenhaal plays superbly as the man behind-the-scenes, trying to put the pieces together.
The movie is rather long, and I'm sure some scenes could have been left out, but the full picture is given in the director's cut, which is something to consider.
I will say that the print at the bottom of the screen, and at the end of the film, is entirely too small, so be prepared to squint. Other than those minor things, a great film to watch and enjoy many times over.
