Critique:
If you like Dr. Who, you will most likely enjoy this fun sci-fi series. John Barrowman (you may remember him as the handsome time traveler from a few of the Who episodes) leads a team of young adventurers in a covert organization that investigates supernatural occurrences on Earth.
There are thirteen action-packed, sexed-up episodes in this DVD collection of the debut season of Torchwood. Everything from sex-addicted aliens, extraterrestrial gifts gone awry and a cyberwoman; to being dead and invisible, time-landing planes from 1953 and split time rifts that threaten to sever existence.
And, as if the excitement from the show isn't enough, fans are treated to a supernaturally charged mountain of featurettes in this set. Six of the seven DVDs contain bountiful extras. With cast and crew interviews and behind-the-scenes footage exploring characters arcs, storylines, creature creations and effects, viewers are sure to be entertained well after the last episode on each disc.
That's not all. The seventh DVD in the set is all about each show. Torchwood Declassified delves into each show of the season, going into detail about the stories, characters and thoughts behind every installment. Don't miss out on the outtakes and deleted scenes in this collection either—they are definitely worth a watch!
Final Analysis: Torchwood is a great new series that takes things one step further into a sci-fi, mature-adult, action-thriller arena.

Historically, when a television series adds a baby or an adopted child, that show has jumped the shark and the end is nigh. This is not the case with season two of ABC Family’s hit teen/sci-fi drama Kyle XY: Revelations. With the addition of Jessi (Jaimie Alexander), a teenager who may or may not be connected to Kyle (Matt ...
