They
say home is where the heart is, but in the Joseph household, home is
where the soul is born. Three women bound by love, work, and
responsibilities forge three very different paths for themselves.
The
eldest Terri is a top lawyer at a major firm, but with success comes
many trials. So many different areas in her life are vying for her
attention, until she risks losing herself completely.
The middle child,
Maxine, is a quick-witted, stay-at-home mom who takes care of "home" in
more ways than one. As her eldest son Ahmad gets older, she desires a
life for herself outside of the confines of her home. Will her path
to self-discovery cost her her marriage? And should she have to choose?
The youngest, and possibly the most pig-headed, Bird, is an up-and-coming
hair stylist. Everyone tells her just how gifted she is, but no one has
the blueprint for how to keep a marriage, rising career, and life
together all at once. Her past comes back to haunt her and changes her
feelings of security and love.
This season has Bird flying very close
to dangerous territory when her decisions, as rash as they always are,
finally come back to bite her in the end. With 20 episodes in order of their air
date, this third installment of Soul Food the series reminds you why
you fell in love with it in the first place, and why you keep coming back for
more.
