Godhead: The Shadow Line

In the new album, The Shadow Line, Godhead displays the mastery with which they play bass, how seamlessly they mesh all instrumental melodies, the perfect harmony of their vocals, and the depth of meaning in their lyrics.

Though heavy metal in flavor, the entire album is an awesome view of Godhead’s diverse talents. Varying tempo, pitch and style is done seamlessly on The Shadow Line. The band offers us a sound that is both heavy and mellow, while the lyrics prove to be lively yet thought-provoking. Feeling what you hear is not always an easy task for a listener; however, Godhead definitely conveys their thoughts, feelings and messages clearly to you. You will understand the message.

Tracks 1, 3, and 4 of The Shadow Line  are great examples of the band that is Godhead. All three tracks display commanding performances from the bassist, meaningful lyrics and awesome percussion playing. The vocals are out-of-sight and vary immensely from one to the other, which is what sets this album apart from other rock albums.

Track 1, “Trapped in Your Lies”, will show you the rock in this band's roll. You will easily appreciate what you are hearing. With the 3rd track, “Gift“, the mixture is perfect. Though the tempo of the music is “rock”, the vocals are more laid back, and thankfully, not overshadowed by the bass. “Fall Down”, the 4th track, also gives us a taste of Godhead's vocal ability to set off a ballad beautifully.

Godhead’s The Shadow Line  is a “Definite Add” to any music library!
